How It Got Started....

So, this is my first official blog! A little bit about our new family! I was born and raised in Hewitt,TX(a suburb outside of Waco,TX). I went to Midway, then off to McLennan Community College, and then shortly followed by Texas State Technical College. I am an administrative assistant at Bobcat of Waco, and I am 23. April 28,2007 I met Rick at a benefit for a little girl with cancer at the Ice House. I was introduced to him from my best friend's boss Sandra who just so happened to be Rick's ex-step mom. My first impression of him was that he was really good looking, but I thought he was a minor(tee-hee whoops!). Little did I know that meeting him that one time would spark such an immediate bond, and an everlasting relationship. We never made ourselves "official" until July 4,2007. That was the first time he kissed me! It took us two whole months to get to know each other. We spent hours and hours on the phone with each other asking questions, talking about our days, our hopes, our dreams, and our goals. We also spent quite a few nights together watching movies. He only stayed the night with me ONE time during the whole "getting to know each other" process. I thought he was a gentleman! Any way, so on to the good stuff, he and I immediately moved in together! We had a few rough spots, but nothing that our love for each other couldn't overcome obviously! So, November 7,2007 was the day he decided he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me! How it happened: well I was working at a small veternarian clinic in Waco, and we were living in my mom's old house. She had come down that weekend for something, I'm not quite sure why? I had the MOST TERRIBLE day at work ever! I rememer I got off work, called him, and he immediately asked me to get him & my mother some beer. I knew they had been drinking since 3 according to text messages I got that day. So, I was thinking how awful it was going to be because all I wanted to do was go home, cuddle on the bed, watch movies, and fall asleep! Well, being the good girlfriend I was, I stopped off at the gas station, got him some beer, some snuff, and headed home! I got home, and he was smoking! Yeah, he never does that unless he is TIPSY or DRUNK! So, I sit down outside, and have me a cigarrette. He asked me if I wanted to go out to eat with Sandra and her son. I agreed even though I really didn't want to! So, I told him I wanted to go take a shower in peace, and have some destressing me time. Well, I was in the shower probably about ten or fifteen minutes, sitting in the bottom of it, shaving my legs when I hear him at the door! He walks in, and wanted to ask me a question. I told him to come to me, and open the curtain so I could hear him better. Well, he swung open the curtain, and to my amazment he was on his knee. Ok, so at this time I thought, "great he's drunk and can't stand up how are we suppose to go to dinner" being the pessimist that I am! Well, he looked at me with all kinds of nervousness written all over his face, and gently asked,"I have been waiting for this moment for so long. Baby, will you marry me and make me the happiest I have ever been?" It didn't take me but two seconds to say yes! When he put the gold band on my finger, he told me that it was my great grandmother's and he had asked my mother for it. That ring is almost 100 years old, has survived WW1 and WWII, and managed to survive being brought over to the U.S. It was very special to me, because my grandmother is some what of a stern one. She has never given me or my mother anything of importance from her heritage. So, you can imagine my amazement. So, after that, I got out of the shower, and we immediately set a date! Then, I picked out my wedding dress the very next day! Our wedding was on April 12,2008. It was at a small chapel with a very cool reverand! It was a perfect day! Ok, the other stuff.... we found out that we were pregnant February 14,2008. I know, I know, kinda cooky, but I didn't plan it that way! I had been so sick for the two weekends before that I didn't even want to go out and party. I just figured I had made myself sick of beer mentally in order to lose weight for my dress. Well, Valentine's Day rolls around, I had gone to Wal-Mart, gotten his gift, and bought me something to wear. He came home with my gift, we exchanged, and headed for RedLobster. Again, I was sick I couldn't even drink or eat my food. Then it hits us that I was 2 weeks late! So, after dinner, we went to Wal-Mart, he ran in, got me a pregnancy test, and a hug stuffed animal. Rick was always so excited whenever I thought I might be pregnant. He was laying in bed about to go to sleep, since he had to get up at 5 A.M., and I came in the room and said,"I hope you are ready to stop drinking with me!" Bless his heart he was so tired from work, he just smiled really big, and I crawled into bed with him, and then called everyone! As of today, May 15, I am 18 weeks along! The pregnancy has actually gone really smooth! I lost morning sickness (yeah, all day sickness more like it) around week 12 right before the wedding! I haven't gained too much weight, I haven't lost weight, but boy I look like I'm already huge! I will post pictures as it progresses. We went to the doctor our first time when I was 8 weeks, and had a confirmation ultra sound. He was very amazed with the baby. He kept telling everyone it looked like a peanut on a spindle. He has definately been pushing for a boy, because he wants a full-time fishing partner! He's so funny! The next time he and I went to the doctor it was for my "womanly appointment". So, he definitely got to see everything!!! It was really nothing to me since he will be present at the birth! So, we'll find out waht the baby is on Tuesday May, 20 at 4 P.M. I can't wait! Then we can finally decided on how we're going to do the nursery! I will update more! Oh yeah, we bought an amazing two story house in McGregor, Texas. It's over 2,600 sqft. Plenty enough room for a growing family! I can't believe I was lucky enough to find this rare gem!!! I will keep this blog thing going!!! Until then......
